C Krishniah Chetty Group of honours women achievers at the Shining Stars Awards, 2017

Bengaluru, Feb 20, 2017 – C Krishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers celebrated extraordinary women from Bengaluru who have blazed a trail of success each in their own individual sphere by presenting them Shining Stars Awards as a part of International Women’s Day celebrations.

CKrishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers has been crafting exceptional  pieces of jewellery for past 145 years  for its clientele in Bengaluru and across theglobe, and now is the turn to acknowledge and celebrate the exceptionalcontribution made by Sterling women of Bengaluru, for the service they haverendered to the society at large in their chosen sphere of influence.  

Sevendistinguished women from different walks of life wereselected for rendering remarkable service to this city and nation.The selection process involved 9 members from within and outside the CKRISHNIAH CHETTY Group of Jewellers.

The recipients of ‘C KrishniahChetty Women of the Year – SHINING STARS were: 

Ms.  Amreen Ahmed: A New media professionalspecialised in making documentaries and short films on Women empowerment. Shehas worked towards building gender sensitive behaviour among adolescents andexploring alternative sexualities. Her documentaries on social issues likedomestic violence, molestation, and deafness has helped in raising awarenessabout these issues. 

Ms. Lakshmi Gopalaswamy: Anaward-winning South Indian film actress and a classical dancer,Gopalaswmay is aqualified Bharatnatyam dancer as well. Gopalaswamy has acted in severalMalayalam, Kannada and Tamil films  and TVserials over the course of her illustrious career. Through her work oncelluloid, she is helping in bringing attention to less talked about topicslike euthanasia, and problem of nurses.
