THE DIRE STRAITS EXPERIENCE JUST LANDED IN INDIA

Bengaluru March 18, 2017: Seagram’s 100 Pipers Music CDs Play for a Cause takes things to the next level this year with The Dire Straits Experience all set to perform in India for the first time. By making their stage debut in the country, the iconic British band will support 100 Pipers ‘Play for a Cause’, an initiative that will this year focus on helping provide sustainable drinking water to villagers in Rajasthan.

To motivate us to ‘Be remembered for Good’, 100 Pipers ‘Play for a cause’ has consistently brought together fêted performers in the field of music to support a worthy cause. Since 2014, 200 leading Indian artists have performed for “Play for a cause” in more than 25 cities. Keeping up with this tradition, this year with The Dire Straits Experience, rock music enthusiasts are in for a great night that will be edged in their memories forever.

 

The band in India will feature original Dire Straits band mates Chris White (sax, flute, percussion, vocals) and Chris Whitten (drums) supported in the lead by Terence Reis (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Tim Walters (Vocals and Guitar), Simon Carter (Piano, Organ and Keyboards), Danny Schogger (Piano, Organ and Keyboards) and Paul Geary (Vocals and Base Guitar). Together they will revive the Dire Straits catalogue for the fans with some of their greatest hits including Money for Nothing, Walk of Life, Brothers in Arms, Sultans of Swing, Romeo and Juliet, Tunnel of Love and more.

Apart of the ticket sales proceeds will be put to good use for the constructionof water conservation structures in the target areas which will help close to6-7 villages. Successful implementation of the plan will ensure better qualityof water available for drinking, sanitation, irrigation and livestock. Withthis improved availability of water and increased soil moisture, theagricultural output will also increase thereby enhancing the income of thecommunity members. In order to ensure seamless execution for this, 100 Pipers‘Play for a Cause’ has partnered with Advit Foundation, an NGO working towardsEnvironmental Resource Conservation and Livelihood Enhancement.
